What we give back to community

Radha Madhav Cultural Association (RMCA) is a registered not-for-profit charitable organization based in Calgary and is the local chapter of the worldwide ISKCON community. It is known to the public as ISKCON Calgary.

RMCA values and celebrates our community's diverse history, identities, and cultures. We embrace an intersectional, multi-issue approach to community building to check the imbalance of values in life and achieve real unity and peace. We strive to bring the community closer together to teach a simpler, more natural way of life.

We achieve these goals with a two-point approach of promoting society's well-being by teaching the science of spirituality according to the Bhagavad-gita & Srimad-Bhagavatam and supporting community initiatives in our local communities.

Some of our community initiatives are listed below, and we seek your support, volunteer hours and donations to keep them alive.

· Food for Life (FFL) program of ISKCON is the world’s largest vegetarian food distribution program serving millions of meals daily, with projects in over 60 countries. RMCA runs the local Calgary chapter with programs at the Calgary Drop-In Center regularly where we provide free meals for 800-1000 clients.

· RMCA runs a community kitchen program every Sunday where we serve free meals to all who participate. This program provides free meals to 250-400 individuals regularly.

· RMCA facilities are community hubs for new immigrants to Canada. We help them introduce themselves to the community and provide them with local support and orientation as required.

· RMCA runs youth programs where we participate in community spring clean-up drives, volunteer opportunities to manage our cultural and outdoor events and help foster relationships to develop a long-term sense of community.

· RMCA does an annual Festival of Chariot which is open to Calgary where we provide free meals to over 5000 Calgarians and host local talents in traditional Indian music and dance shows. This is a great event for promoting multicultural information sharing and recognizing & appreciating each other.
