Narasimha Chaturdashi is joyfully celebrated as the appearance day of Lord Narasimhadev, the fierce yet compassionate incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

Lord Narasimhadeva 🦁—in His majestic half-man, half-lion form—appeared to destroy the demon Hiranyakashipu and protect His beloved devotee, Prahlada Maharaja.

Though terrifying to the demonic, He is the most merciful protector of those who take shelter at His Lotus feet.

“By meditating upon He whose form is fearsome, all peace, happiness and prosperity can be obtained, all sins can be obliterated, the fear arising from evil spirits, fevers and unfavourable planetary positions can be removed, O Lord Nrsimha, please bestow upon me Your merciful side-long glance.”

Join us for Calgary’s most joyful and spiritual celebration! Experience the divine presence of Lord Jagannath (Krishna), accompanied by His brother Baladeva and sister Subhadra, as they ride together through the streets in a magnificent chariot — pulled by thousands of loving hearts. This sacred journey symbolizes the Lord coming out to bless all living beings with His merciful darshan.

Krishna, in His awe-inspiring form as Lord Jagannath, reigns over the universe alongside His elder brother Baladeva and beloved sister Subhadra. The Rath Yatra – Festival of Chariots – was initiated over five decades ago by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, founder of ISKCON. What began as a sacred festival in India now unites more than 750 cities worldwide in devotion, joy, and community.

On Sunday, June 22, ISKCON Calgary is honoured to host the 21st Annual Jagannath Rath Yatra – Festival of Chariots. We invite you and your loved ones to join us for the biggest outdoor celebration of the year — where you can pull the Lord’s Chariot, receive His merciful darshan, and experience a vibrant celebration of spiritual joy.
