Radha Madhav Cultural Association is seeking a highly experienced and spiritually qualified Temple Priest to serve as the Religious Leader for our growing devotional community. The successful candidate will provide spiritual leadership, conduct religious services, and guide devotees in accordance with ISKCON principles and the Vaishnava tradition.
This role requires a mature, dedicated devotee with deep scriptural knowledge, strong leadership qualities, and extensive experience in temple service.
### Duties and Responsibilities
* Lead and conduct daily temple programs including Mangala Aarti, Guru Puja, kirtans, and evening services
* Perform Deity worship strictly in accordance with ISKCON standards and procedures
* Officiate religious ceremonies, festivals, samskaras, weddings, funerals, and special events
* Deliver regular classes and discourses on Bhagavad-gita, Srimad Bhagavatam, and other Vaishnava scriptures
* Provide spiritual counseling, guidance, and pastoral care to devotees and community members
* Train, mentor, and supervise brahmacharis, volunteers, and congregation members
* Promote moral, ethical, and spiritual development within the community
* Organize and lead outreach, preaching, and educational programs
* Maintain temple discipline, spiritual standards, and a strong devotional atmosphere
* Participate in planning and administration of religious programs and temple activities
* Represent the temple in community and interfaith engagements
### Requirements and Qualifications
Spiritual & ISKCON-Specific Requirements
* Minimum 15+ years of experience as a practicing devotee and priest within ISKCON
* Completion of all required Brahmachari courses and formal ISKCON training
* Must be twice initiated (Second/Brahminical initiation) within ISKCON
* Authorized and experienced in Deity worship as per ISKCON standards
* Recognized by ISKCON authorities with verifiable references
General Requirements
* Extensive knowledge of Vaishnava theology, scriptures, rituals, and traditions
* Proven ability to lead religious services and provide spiritual guidance
* Strong communication, teaching, and interpersonal skills
* Leadership and organizational abilities
* High moral character, integrity, and compassion
* Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and festival days
* Physical ability to perform temple duties, including standing for extended periods and conducting ceremonies
* Willingness to relocate to and serve in Calgary, Alberta
